My name is Drew Cogan. I started Cogan Equity LLC to find and acquire one small business that I can lead as owner-operator for the long term
I studied Mechanical Engineering at the University of Massachusetts Lowell, then earned my MS in Industrial and Systems Engineering as well as my MBA from the University of Florida. That combination, engineering rigor and business fundamentals, shapes how I think about operations, process improvement, and organizational performance.
Before launching my search, I spent nearly a decade working in manufacturing. Two years in medical device manufacturing gave me close-up experience in quality-critical production environments. Seven years in the defense industry reinforced how high-stakes operational systems are built, maintained and improved.
I am not a private equity firm. I am one individual making one acquisition and I intend to run the business I buy, not flip it. My goal is to find one great company with a strong foundation, earn the trust of its team and customers, and build on whats its owner created.
